Stara Kuźnia

It took first place in Warmia and Mazury in the Gault & Millau guide (The Yellow Guide). The only restaurant in the region to receive 13 points—that is, 2 hats! Stara Kuźnia offers more than just culinary delights. It features the unique atmosphere of an old barn, a fire pit for grilling, and beautiful, idyllic surroundings. You can dine indoors or outdoors. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

Gospoda Pod Czarnym Łabędziem

Right on the lake. A member of the Warmia, Mazury, and Powiśle Culinary Heritage network. Featured in the 2019 Gault&Millau Guide. It combines the functions of a restaurant and a museum, where, by the light of candles and kerosene lamps, amidst old equipment, fishing nets, and reeds, The atmosphere of an old Prussian inn from over 100 years ago. Regional cuisine, specialties of Polish, Prussian, and Lithuanian cuisine. Traditional, atmospheric, delicious, and right on the lake shore. When the weather is nice, you can dine on the pier with a view of the quaint harbor.

Barka

What a place! It’s also been featured in the Gault & Millau guide. The atmosphere on this old barge floating on the water is truly unique! From their website: “Travel and our roots are our main sources of inspiration. Our menu is a blend of Polish, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines.
Because of our location, we’re a pretty laid-back spot, often called ‘Stoówka.’ We want you to catch our love for local and seasonal ingredients.

Rybaczówka

On the lakefront. You can sit on the terrace overlooking the sailboats or right by the water. At Rybaczówka, everything revolves around fish served in many ways—baked, fried, smoked, marinated—with no frozen products, additives, or preservatives, purchased from local fishermen every morning. The highlight is whole fish baked in the oven—zander, sturgeon, perch, and trout.

Karczma Stary Młyn

A charming restaurant in Upałty with a view of the lake. Old Polish and Masurian traditional dishes made with ingredients from local farmers. Zander, pork chops, tenderloin, pierogi, regional potato pancakes, and stuffed cabbage rolls. Delicious homemade liqueurs. Consistent, high quality. We visit here often, especially in the off-season.

Słowiczówka

We love it. Mazury from the kitchen—Mazurian cuisine at its best. Dishes made with local, seasonal ingredients. Delicious and home-style. Liver, blood sausage, crispy potato pancakes, duck, tench, lazy dumplings… and there’s something for vegetarians, too. Everything, without exception, is very tasty. The whole experience is complemented by a cozy, warm interior. We really do come here often. It’s a bit further from Ublik, but while you’re there, you can visit the Wild Animal Park in Kadzidłowo, organize a rafting trip down the Krutynia River (starting right by Słowiczówka), or visit the Old Believers’ monastery in Wojnowo. It’s also not far from the famous Gałków Stud Farm.

Prato Do Dia

A Portuguese food truck in Masuria. What a combination! A fusion of the Masurian atmosphere with authentic Portuguese cuisine. The food is prepared by a native Portuguese chef. On the menu: bifana, octopus à la gereiro, seafood tapas… and wonderfully delicious, traditional pastel de nata for dessert.

Oberża Pod Psem

This place has already become a cult favorite, and it’s also one of our favorites. The inn is housed in a wooden, nearly 100-year-old historic cottage. Even though it’s a bit of a drive, we visit often—for the excellent cuisine and the atmosphere. The restaurant has been awarded a Gault & Millau hat. It ranks second in Masuria—with a score of 12.5 points! Right next door is a small museum run by the owners—a Masurian arcaded cottage—and the Wild Animal Park in Kadzidłowo, which is worth visiting with children. Nearby: rafting on the Krutynia River (Ukta) and the Old Believers’ monastery in Wojnów. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

Gospodarstwo Rybackie “Śniardwy”, Smażalnia Ryb Ewa

Fresh fried fish, Fish & Chips style, straight from the nearby fish farm (pictured).

Orders with assigned numbers are read out over the microphone. It’s got that old-school, vacation vibe 🙂

Porto-o-Wino

A marina, restaurant, and wine bar. It’s worth stopping by at sunset—a totally relaxing atmosphere with a view of the yacht marina on Lake Niegocin. There’s a wide selection of drinks and wines, but you can definitely grab a bite to eat as well—Italian dishes, sushi, and a kids’ menu.

Port Tło dla Mew

An open-air tavern with a stunning view of the lake. The menu changes regularly. They serve excellent wood-fired pizza. In addition to the food, there’s always plenty going on at Tło dla Mew—live music, singing, and performances. They call themselves the House of Artists. It’s worth checking out their Facebook page; you can find a cool event, drop by, grab a bite…

Simple, tasty, pleasant, and nautical…

Spichlerz u Tolka

A Polish-Ukrainian restaurant. Delicious Ukrainian borscht, pelmeni and other dumplings, Odessa-style forshmak, and more. Very tasty. It’s worth a visit.
