We are located in the Orzysz Switzerland (Aryser Schweiz) region, so named by German summer visitors who came to this area at the turn of the century. Four picturesque lakes—Buwełno, Ublik Mały, Ublik Wielki, and Wojnowskie—moraine hills, forests, wilderness, and hiking and biking trails. It is still very quiet and peaceful here, even during the high season.
Nature
Almost every day, we set out to explore the wilderness of Masuria—on foot, by bike, or by car… We recommend:
- Nietlickie Bagno Nature Reserve, 7 km away—a peat bog and Poland’s largest crane sanctuary. A true gem!
- The turquoise lakes of Ublik Wielki and Ublik Mały, 4 km away. Along the way, you’ll find a former 19th-century palace and park complex (now the Park Ublik Hotel), the partner business Manufaktura Górecka (Ublik 11), and the local cheese factory Agroturystyka na Rozdrożu (Ublik 12)
- Hiking and biking trails around Ublik—just step outside your front door…
- Lake Śniardwy, 26 km – viewpoints: the high bank near Kwik or near the Łuknajno Farm
- The Szeroki Ostrów Peninsula on Lake Śniardwy—a steep slope with a beautiful view of the lake at sunset
- Biosphere Reserve (26 km) – Lake Łuknajno
- The surrounding forests and the Piska Primeval Forest
Towns and villages:
- The village of Ublik, situated on three lakes, was founded in the 15th century in the Aryser Schweiz region—known as the “Switzerland of Orzysz.” In 1800, Ublik’s owner, Gottlieb Kullak, built a palace on a hill, complete with a park and a beautiful view of Lake Ublik (it’s worth visiting by bike or on foot). It was burned down in 1915 and destroyed in 1945 by the Soviets, who also dismantled the railroad tracks. After reconstruction, it lost its historic character—only the columns, the outbuilding (known as the White Lady), and the gardener’s cottage remain. Today, there is a hotel there (where you can have lunch).
- The village of Cierzpięty—founded in the 15th century (formerly known as Tirtel or Cierspienten)—is home to a heavily dilapidated manor house dating from the second half of the 19th century and a World War I cemetery.
- Mikołajki (25 km) – a sailing and seaside destination with a marina. You can get there by bike via gravel and small paved roads through Tuchlin, Chmielewo, and the Łuknajno Lake Biosphere Reserve. Sailboats are available for rent.
- Giżycko (24 km) – sailing, plus Boyen Fortress, boat tours
- Ryn (30 km) – Teutonic Knights’ castle, marina
- Okartowo (10 km) – a church dating from 1799

Horses
Masuria is the perfect place for horseback riding enthusiasts: meadows, forests, lakes, fresh air, and the wind in your hair. All you have to do is find the right riding club and hop on a horse!
Our guests are in luck, because just a short distance away, on the other side of the lake in Marcinowa Wola, is our partner club, Masuria Sport Horses, run with passion and professionalism.
If you want to learn to ride from scratch, are looking for challenging training sessions, or simply want to relax with horses, this is the place for you! We also have a pony for the little ones. MSH focuses on quality and a personalized approach. We’re surrounded by beautiful scenery, far from the village and other buildings.
Teren Ublik Green
In addition to the beach and the pier, we have a place on our property where guests can gather—a secluded, covered shelter with a large table, a fire pit, and hammocks. The shelter also features an “information board” with brochures about local attractions and current events in the area.
For Children
And for kids:
- In addition to the beach and swimming area, there’s Ublik Chatka—a cozy little spot off the beaten path—with toys and books for the little ones
- Small sandbox
- A lakeside mud hut
- Bonfire pit
- A pier where you can go fishing

The Station Area
The station is located in a spacious, green garden. Here, you can enjoy a meal together, have a barbecue, or spend time by the bonfire. If it starts to rain, you can take shelter in the charming former stable; it has a relaxed, outdoor atmosphere perfect for chatting over a glass of wine and some grilled snacks.
Next door, for those who like to stay active, there’s a place to play soccer, badminton…
