The photos below were taken in this area\u2014shots near the house and within a 10-kilometer radius. It\u2019s worth taking a bike ride to explore the entire area<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nature<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nietlickie Bagno Nature Reserve (7 km) \u2013 a peat bog and Poland\u2019s largest refuge for migratory and non-breeding cranes \u2013 approx. 4,000 individuals and other birds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biosphere Reserve (26 km) \u2013 Lake \u0141uknajno<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lake \u015aniardwy (26 km) \u2013 viewpoints: the high bank near Kwik or near the \u0141uknajno Farmstead<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Szeroki Ostr\u00f3w Peninsula on Lake \u015aniardwy \u2013 a high escarpment, a beautiful view of the lake at sunset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walk from Ublik to Lake Ublik Wielki (4 km), where a former 19th-century palace and park complex is located (now the Park Ublik hotel). Along the way, visit our partner, Manufaktura G\u00f3recka (Ublik 11)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Villages:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ublik (4 km) \u2013 a village founded in the 15th century in the area known as \u201cAryser Schweiz\u201d (Oryska Switzerland). In 1800, Gotlieb Kullar, the owner of Ublik, built a palace with a park on a high hill, offering a breathtaking view of Lake Ublik. In 1915, Russian soldiers burned it down; in 1945, Soviet soldiers completed the destruction and also dismantled the railroad tracks. After extensive reconstruction, it lost its historic character\u2014only pairs of columns, the palace outbuilding (the White Lady), and the so-called gardener\u2019s cottage remain. Today, there is a hotel there (lunch can be ordered one day in advance).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cierzpi\u0119ty\u2014founded in the 15th century (formerly Tirtel or Cierspienten)\u2014unfortunately features a heavily dilapidated manor house from the second half of the 19th century and a World War I military cemetery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our favorite bike routes (light traffic, gravel roads):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Masurian Cycling Loop \u2013 runs right by us, around the lakes, including a beautiful route around Lake \u015aniardwy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loop (19 km total, approx. 1 hour 30 minutes) \u2013 Ublik, Bagna Nietlickie Nature Reserve, the village of Paprotki, Stara Ku\u017ania Farm, Marcinowa Wola, Ublik<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To Miko\u0142ajki (25 km one way, approx. 3 hours total) \u2013 through W\u0119\u017cewo, Okartowo, Chmielewo, \u0141uknajno Nature Reserve, observation tower overlooking Lake \u015aniardwy (\u0141uknajno Farm)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ublik \u2013 Hotel Park Ublik (4 km one way) \u2013 former palace and park complex<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cities and towns worth visiting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Miko\u0142ajki (25 km) \u2013 sailing and a pleasant atmosphere, marina. Accessible by bike via gravel and small paved roads through Tuchlin, Chmielewo, and the \u0141uknajno Lake Biosphere Reserve.
